Being a Mum… There are so many things we’re just expected to know – how to change a nappy, how to breastfeed, why our babies are crying, what to feed them, etc, etc. And then there’s being an Adult… no one really teaches us that stuff either. Yes there’s NCT, Google and TikTok, but they don’t equip you with all you need to know to do Adulting. When it comes to the really big stuff, we’re on our own.

Take money. At some point, we’re just supposed to know how it all works. Mortgages, pensions, investments, even protection (that’s insurance to me and you). These things matter for our families, but most of us are left piecing it all together from parents, friends, or the odd post on social media. And what if you’ve made it all the way to parenthood still feeling completely in the dark?

That’s where Walking Mums steps in. We might not have all the answers, but we bring in the experts who do and we find those who genuinely want to help.

• Lucy Love — Queen of Mortgages (and yes, what a great name!). With over 15 years’ experience in the finance industry, Lucy has helped countless people make their home ownership dreams a reality — whether it’s buying your first home, a second property, or funding renovations. As a mum of two teenage daughters, she knows first-hand how important the right financial decisions are for families.
  
• Rachel — Protection Adviser of the Year (that’s insurance for us mere mortals). With over a decade of expertise, Rachel knows everything there is to know about making sure your family is protected. She’s also mum to 7-year-old Evelyn and has an incredibly inspiring story having welcomed her daughter into the world as a single mum through the miracle that is IVF.
  
• Heather Hilley — Heather has joined us once before, delivering a Financial Wellbeing session to a group of us at Partridge Lake earlier in the year, the feedback was fantastic so we’re excited to welcome her back. Heather is a Mum, business owner (multiple times), charity founder and all round excellent human who really cares about ensuring Women have the right advice when it comes to pensions and finance.

Together, they’ve helped us design an event to empower you with the knowledge you should have been given years ago — what to do, when to do it, and how. It doesn’t mean you have to act right away, but at least you’ll leave with some clarity (and peace of mind) on all things mortgages, finance, pensions and that thing – protection.

Venue
The event will be held in the amazing Studio upstairs at Z, Children and babies are of course welcome and we will all do our best to keep them entertained so we can listen ✨

There will also be the opportunity to add on a ticket to head downstairs to the soft play afterwards (for an additional charge), details on which will follow. Food and drink can also be purchased.
