Tegg’s Nose Hike
Walk CategoriesWalk Regions

Tegg’s Nose is a beautiful countryside adventure for our Tiny Trekkers, with stunning views across the Cheshire countryside, woodland, open parkland and plenty for little legs to explore.
This is a slightly more adventurous Tiny Trekkers walk, so we’ll be taking our time and allowing plenty of stops along the way. The aim isn’t to rush to the finish — it’s about getting little ones moving, exploring together and having fun outdoors.
The route is around 2 miles and includes some uneven and rugged sections, so this is one for confident little walkers rather than a pram walk. A baby carrier is recommended for younger children who may need a break.
And of course, we’ll have plenty of snacks! Because we all know that snacks are essential equipment when you’re walking with toddlers.
The views from Tegg’s Nose are absolutely beautiful, making this a really special place to introduce little ones to a proper countryside adventure.
Why We Love This Walk
“I love this walk because it feels like a proper little adventure. Tegg’s Nose is so beautiful and the views are amazing, but I also love that it’s somewhere where the children can really explore rather than just being pushed around a flat path. It’s a little more challenging than some of our Tiny Trekkers walks, but that’s part of the fun. We can take our time, stop for snacks, explore along the way and let the little ones discover the countryside together. And let’s be honest, with a Tiny Trekkers walk, we’re going to need a LOT of snacks“

Pram Friendliness
⭐☆☆☆☆
This is not a pram-friendly walk.
There are uneven paths, loose surfaces, hills and gates, making a pushchair unsuitable for this Tiny Trekkers route.
For younger children, we recommend using a baby carrier instead.
Accessibility
This route isn’t fully accessible due to uneven terrain, inclines, gates and natural countryside paths.
There are accessible facilities at the Visitor Centre and some more accessible paths around the country park, but the Walking Mums Tiny Trekkers route is more adventurous.
Scenery
This is where Tegg’s Nose really shines.
Expect beautiful countryside views, woodland, open grassland, rocky landscapes and views across the Cheshire Plain towards the Peak District.
It’s a brilliant place for little ones to experience a proper countryside walk.
Play Area
There isn’t a traditional playground on this route.
Instead, the adventure comes from exploring the countryside, spotting wildlife, climbing over natural terrain and discovering the landscape together.
Picnic Spot
Picnic areas and benches are available around the country park, making it easy to bring plenty of snacks and stop for a rest.
Distance
Approximately 2 miles.
We’ll be walking at Tiny Trekker pace, allowing plenty of time for little legs, snack breaks and exploring.
Terrain
Uneven countryside paths, loose surfaces, grass, woodland and some uphill sections.
There are also gates along some routes. Tegg’s Nose is naturally more rugged than our usual park walks.
Best Age Group
Best suited to confident toddlers and preschoolers who are happy walking outdoors.
Younger babies can attend using a suitable baby carrier.
